I can be too focused on control.
I like things in their place (I am an accountant at ).
Delegating can be HARD for me but it is THE thing that helps me grow with my limited time!
By now we’ve all heard the 4 D’s of time management:
As I said- delegating is the toughest one for me! My business is my baby (in addition to my 3 actual babies and one baby).
But my business IS me. That’s where I’ve had to step back and take the ME out of my business.
What does that look like?
It looks like asking, “What would I do if I were the CEO?”
NOT me as the business owner but me as the CEO. My actions look totally different if I think about it from that perspective!
Here’s an example from last January…January is our busiest month and for me to get every single signed W9 form, every single approval from the business owner, and submit every single form would have put a LOT on my already full plate.
Then for fun…we were thrown a COVID spike and my 3 kids were home MORE.
So I delegated and it was amazing! We did LOTS of planning and my team was very patient with all of my Loom training videos and spreadsheets. They also got to pick up extra work as a little bonus to start the year as well as new skills.
We have to stretch ourselves as business owners!
I’d love to hear from you! Out of delete, delegate, do and defer…which one is *stickiest* for you?
