Using bookkeeping software doesn’t make you a bookkeeper
Posted on November 8, 2022

This may be tough to hear, but it’s true 👇

Just because you know how to enter into a bookkeeping software doesn’t make you a bookkeeper. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just because I *can* cut your hair doesn’t mean you should pay me and call me a “Stylist”. 💇🏻‍♀️

My background is in accounting, I KNOW debits and credits. I could do this stuff on paper (thank you @Intuit so I don’t have to) but I know *exactly* how every single transaction is affecting the chart of accounts.

That’s why I’m so good at my job and why our bookkeepers are so amazing! They know accounting…not just the software.

It’s like the little see-through music boxes my girls love… the ones where you can see the wheels turning inside to make the music.

That’s how well I know QBO and bookkeeping.

That’s why I’m so unique in the work I do with my clients!

I am the best person to help with the backend of business AND I know how to use the numbers going forward to give my clients the information they need to make strategic decisions to increase their revenue and take home pay. 🙌

Whoever is doing your books, please make sure they know accounting! Fortunately, nothing in QBO is permanent (unless you’ve already filed your taxes-that’s another story) but you can have a big mess on your hands!

I invite you to be discerning who is taking care of the backend of your business! Having accurate numbers and records is the foundation to creating more revenue and working with more clients.
