I thought I was ‘safe’ from selling. 🤦🏻‍♀️
Posted on October 9, 2022

That’s what I told myself when I started my business. I thought “whew” they either need it or they don’t.

Not true! ❌

At that point, I didn’t know how to love selling. I thought it was something icky for used car salesmen. Not for accountants.

The minute I embraced selling in my business and saw it as a beautiful way to get to know people, understand their needs, and help guide them to what they want (which may not necessarily be working with me), I realized that it’s actually fun (and increased my total revenue)!

It’s not a needy, “Please buy from me!” type of selling.

It’s a “How can I support you?” selling.

These are very different vibes and it has made a huge difference for me personally and in business.

How do you feel about selling? Do you dread it and want to fall through the floor when someone asks, “What are your prices?”

Maybe you don’t even “sell” because you think if you give enough value people will just ‘know’ they need to work with you.

{Side note}: I’ve been BOTH of these people. 🙋🏻‍♀️

Let’s reframe selling into something positive that serves you AND your people.

I invite you to:
👉 think of your social media posts as a connection you’re making with friends.
👉 show up on sales calls not to get a “yes” from someone but to see what they need and how (maybe) you are the person to solve their problem.
👉 follow-up with people because you genuinely care about them as a human, know they’re busy, and want to make it easy for them.

Reframe how you feel about selling and you’ll feel more peaceful in your business and create more profit!
