Do BIG Things by Shopping Small!
Posted on November 23, 2018

The hustle and bustle of the holidays definitely starts after Thanksgiving.  So don’t forget that this Saturday, 11/24/18, is Small Business Saturday!  That means that you can make a big difference with the small businesses in your area.

Think of all the gifts or gift cards you’d like to buy and go to your local stores.  The owners of these stores are your neighbors!  When you shop small you help create jobs in the community, your tax dollars stay local, these businesses give back to the neighborhood, they offer unique products and are proud of their products, and it helps keep our communities from turning into strip malls!

Many small businesses will roll out the red carpet on Small Business Saturday!  Many stores will extend their hours to making shopping more convenient.  Local businesses also plan promotions and giveaway goodies.  Last but not least, they excel in customer service!  Unlike big box stores, the owners/employees really care that you are there and want you to have a good experience.  They are also super knowledgeable willing to take the time to educate you and make sure you leave with the right product.

Make it a fun outing with your family and teach your kids how important the local economy is.  Teach by example that everything we purchase has a story and participating in the story is half the fun!  Join your community this Saturday- and most of the year- by shopping small!
