My favorite way to feel āsafeā is hyper vigilance.
I know where it comes fromā¦my typical older sibling type A personality.
So when things feel uncertain.
Or out of control
My brain grasps onto whatever it thinks it can ācontrolā.
Early in my biz, it meant checking my bank balance or QBO reports constantly.
These days it looks like pouring over my data too much.
When that happens, my goal is to walk away + take the opposite action.
Get outside.
Move my body.
It gets heightened the closer I get to my period. And shows up outside of biz as well.
Like noticing ALL the clutter everywhere all over the house.
And the funny thing isā¦this hyper vigilance doesnāt actually help me in any way.
It doesnāt prevent a wrong email from going out.
And it doesnāt actually mean I control anything.
Iām SO much better at noticing it.
And have my LT 1:1 coach to call it out too.
Discerning between hyper vigilance + an actual problem to solve has saved me so much time + money in my biz!
Otherwise, my brain will give me 27 things to do that it thinks will solve/fix/prevent what Iām worried about.
I do the same for my 1:1 partnership clients.
Help them focus on what they can control + where their safety actually comes from.
As well as discernā¦is there actually a gap to close?
Is this an opportunity to tweak something or just our brain + nervous system needing something else?
And Lmkā¦am I the only person who cares about my fav mug being used?! š¤£šš½
I mean, it has a āJā on it!
